Anti-Net Neutrality Congressman Al Wynn Fakes News Video, Also Video is Really Really Stupid

Fresh off of robocalling his own supporters to tell them he's not a crook and a liar, the Congress on the Energy and Commerce Committee (who cosponsored the bill to get rid of net neutrality) Al Wynn has now posted a video response to Donna Edwards.  Only, it's both really stupid and it's a fake news release.  Wynn's campaign disabled embedding video in blog posts, so I downloaded it and uploaded it to an OpenLeft account.  Here it is in all its remarkable glory.

I'm working on a transcript.

In the meantime, here's a beautiful illustration of Wynn's telecom-fueled corruption.

Invitation

You can give to his primary opponent, the uber-awesome Donna Edwards, here.  The filing deadline for the primary on February 12th is tonight, so give give give!

That just about says it all.  Wynn is odious.  I hate all commercials that pretend to be newscasts, like the late night infomercials for "all natural" cure-alls.  They're dishonest on their face, and I don't know why people think that they're persuasive.

I understand that the late night spots prey on the weak minded, but anyone sophisticated enough to watch a youtube video (and thats a low bar) wouldn't be fooled into thinking that this is a real newscast.

Al Wynn is a true man of the people there...

Nice work Matt.  I think that these races are the strength and future of the blog-o-sphere.

...for how NOT to do an issues piece. If it's supposed to be an interview, at least treat it like a real interview and edit it.

I'm not even familiar with the context of the accusations he's rebutting but that video was a turn-off. Starting off implicitly confirming that trips were paid for by lobbyists  was not a good start.

No transcript yet but this phrase jarred my ears: After using the acronym FHA, he explained it was the "Federal Home Administration."

Yowzaa, and it was only 2:48 long? His filibuster answers to a request for "a moment" of his time felt more like ten minutes.

There's the sound of a car starting in the middle of it.

That's terrible.

Just WOW!

~'Look, she's like saying I'm taking Lobbyist vacations or whatever, but all of those vacations were like 2 days or less...'

This video is a god-awful mess.  Seriously, if Edwards doesn't beat him, that would question my belief in democracy altogether.

Is this serious?!!!  Did this loser actually get re-elected in '06?!!!
